Subtle Nature are a four-piece band from London. Their music has been described as dark folk, indie-folk, folk-rock, and gothic rock. The line up consists of vocals, guitar, piano, violin and drums, and they aim to create a wall of dynamic sound combined with lyrics that hit hard. They are influenced by a range of artists including Arcade Fire, The National, Of Monsters and Men, Frank Turner, Ferocious Dog, The Divine Comedy, The Magnetic Fields, and Nick Cave.
As of the start of 2021 they have released four singles - Across The Sea, You Get Burned, This Monster Inside, and The Last Thing - which have received national airplay on radio and coverage in music magazines. Before the current worldwide pandemic, Subtle Nature embarked on a short UK tour. They enjoyed some great gigs in Brighton, Cardiff, Manchester, Liverpool, Oxford, London, and Bristol where they entertained audiences and made new friends. They also had plans to gig around Europe on a summer tour but this got postponed due to the pandemic.
In the middle of the lockdown they played two shows in Reading as well as two livestream gigs for social media. They are looking forward to returning to live music as soon it becomes safe to do so and they are working hard to get an EP out before the end of 2021.
